Position Summary:
Antilles School is seeking an experienced and joyful Toddler Teacher to join our Early Learning Center. This educator will nurture our youngest learners, ages 2–3 years, in a safe, engaging, and play-based environment that supports early developmental milestones. The Toddler Teacher fosters exploration, curiosity, and confidence through sensory-rich experiences and warm, responsive relationships.
Ideal candidates will have a deep understanding of toddler development, embrace child-led learning, and be passionate about fostering social-emotional growth. A collaborative spirit, flexibility, and strong communication skills are essential.
Core Responsibilities:
Instructional Practice & Environment
Create a nurturing, developmentally appropriate, and inclusive classroom environment grounded in a play-based philosophy.
Design routines, transitions, and learning experiences that support toddlers’ autonomy, language acquisition, and gross and fine motor development.
Observe and document developmental progress using appropriate tools and share insights with families.
Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom space that encourages active exploration.
Relationships & Community
Build trusting, respectful relationships with children and families through ongoing, open communication.
Collaborate with teaching partners and ELC colleagues to support shared programming and classroom management.
Partner with families in a culturally sensitive manner to support their child’s growth and learning journey.
Professional Collaboration
Work closely with fellow Pre-K and Kindergarten educators to support transition and curricular alignment.
Participate in faculty professional development and contribute to a reflective teaching culture.
Collaborate with the ELC Leadership Team and Student Support Team when needed to provide individualized support.
Qualifications include:
Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
At least two years of experience working with toddlers in an early childhood setting.
CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
Strong understanding of early childhood development and learning frameworks.
Commitment to inclusive classroom practices and cultural competence.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with educational technology and digital tools to support instruction.
Warm, child-centered approach with strong interpersonal skills and a growth mindset.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a dynamic, diverse school environment.
