Job Description

About Us:

We are a fast-growing company building technology for airlines and corporate travel. Our services run in AWS and leverage modern cloud architecture to provide highly available, scalable, secure, and compliant services for some of the largest travel providers in the world. We are SOC 2 and PCI compliant, and our applications are built using Java/React as well as other languages/frameworks, with a variety of AWS-managed services at the core of our architecture.

We are looking for humble leaders who lead by example through teamwork and collaboration. The ideal candidate must have excellent listening and communication skills and be capable of diagramming and documenting solutions and process/data flows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience of our AWS-based infrastructure.
  • Own AWS networking and network security, including VPC design, security groups, IAM, and WAF/Shield.
  • Implement monitoring, observability, and alerting solutions to proactively detect issues.
  • Multi-region support and disaster recovery.
  • Automate deployments, infrastructure management, and incident response.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for production issues, minimizing downtime and improving system reliability.
  • Optimize cloud infrastructure performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Collaborate with development teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
  • Improve security posture by implementing best practices for access controls, encryption, and compliance.

Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Serve as a technical leader in infrastructure, networking, and security operations.
  • Work closely with developers to improve deployment processes and system performance.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to respond to critical incidents.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers on best practices.
  • Document architecture, processes, and operational workflows to ensure knowledge sharing.

Who You Are:

  • 10+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE roles.
  • Expertise in AWS services including VPC, WAF/Shield, GuardDuty, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, CloudFront, API Gateway, EC2, S3, Lambda, ELB, Fargate, and IAM.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, security, and compliance in cloud environments.
  • Proficiency in automation and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK).
  • Experience with SIEM monitoring and observability tools (OpenSearch, Datadog, or similar).
  • Skilled in scripting and programming (Java, Python, SQL, JavaScript/Node, Bash, etc.).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and experience in high-availability systems.
  • AWS Certifications are highly desired.
  • Excellent verbal communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.

Why Join Us?

  • Lead critical modernization projects that will improve how we build and deploy software.
  • A chance to work with a high-performing, fast-paced team tackling exciting challenges in travel technology.
  • Competitive compensation, benefits, and a flexible work environment.
