**Job Description**
**The Scientist I, Manufacturing Sciences, will be responsible for the synthesis of** **functionalized** **resins** **used in columns.**
-Use manufacturing protocols to accurately synthesize raw and functionalized resins for column production
-Address and report problems in daily manufacturing and propose effective countermeasures
-Communicate effectively with other production staff regarding delays, issues in production, etc
-Interact efficiently in a cross functional setting between several departments
-Collaborate in PPI initiatives to improve overall quality and yields of various synthesized resins
-Participate in 5S, JDI, and Safety initiatives
Requires a Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry.
-0-1 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
-Direct experience with polymer chemistry
-Experience with chromatography software and H/UPLC preferred
-Ability to perform routine analysis on size distribution and surface area of resins
-Solid understanding of manufacturing environments and standard chemistry techniques and principles
-Familiarity working with standard software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
-Familiarity with chromatography systems
**Compensation and Benefits**
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $27.91-$41.86.
