Job Title: QA Automation Engineer
Agency: Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC)
Location: Onsite – Austin, TX
Rate: $70K annually (W2 and 1099 only) Position Overview:
This QA Engineer Automated 3 role supports quality assurance efforts for mission-critical projects at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). The selected candidate will design, develop, and maintain both manual and automated test scripts in support of software testing processes. This role requires strong experience in test automation frameworks (WebdriverIO or similar), Agile methodologies, and tools like Jira, XRay, and Selenium. The candidate will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and efficient testing for development, UAT, and production environments.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop automated test cases using WebdriverIO or similar tools.
- Create and maintain scripts for both automated and manual testing.
- Perform manual testing when required and ensure accurate execution tracking.
- Schedule and execute automated test cases regularly and provide detailed reporting.
- Use Jira to log and monitor defects throughout the lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain requirement traceability matrices.
- Participate actively in Agile development teams and support testing across dev, test, UAT, and production.
- Lead UAT testing efforts as needed and provide on-call support when required.
- Troubleshoot and update test cases as necessary to meet system and performance needs.
Qualifications:
Required
- 10 years of experience in manual test script execution
- 8 years of experience in automated QA testing
- 8 years of experience creating QA test scripts
- 8 years of experience in performance testing
Preferred
- 5 years of experience with automated test case reporting
- 5 years of experience with JavaScript, HTML, Selenium
- 3 years of experience using Agile, Scrum, Jira, and XRay
