Purchasing Agent - FT Location Sulphur, LA : The Stine family, including 3 generations of Stine family members, together with hundreds of associates, work side by side together toward providing the nation's best home improvement shopping experience and premier preferred workplace of its kind. Our retail and contractor supply locations provide thousands of quality products for new construction, remodeling, and industrial projects. Job Summary: The Purchasing Agent is responsible for purchasing goods and services for the company in a cost-effective and efficient manner while ensuring the company's operational needs are met, adhering to budget constraints and company policies. Qualifications: 1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education beyond high school is preferred. 2. Training and Experience: Minimum of one year in the building industry and/or in a supervisor role. Proficiency in Excel is required. Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills. 3. Job Knowledge: Understanding of the building material industry and procurement/inventory management practices. 4. Physical Demands: Work requires some physical effort and involves standing, much walking, and medium lifting. Works in and out of an air-conditioned environment, but mostly in an office, cubicle setting. (Important: This job is classified in the physical demands section of the [Form IV-31] as constant sedentary and occasional light work.)
