**Rubber Mill Operator - Otay Mesa**
**Job Description**
As a Rubber Mill Operator, you will be responsible for creating raw rubber preparations used in the molding process. This involves cutting sheets with shears or ceramic blades, running them through the mill to achieve the correct thickness, and then processing them through a cutter or extruder.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate various machines including calendar machines, laminators, extruders, and rubber mills.
+ Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
+ Perform rubber molding tasks using calipers and scales.
+ Load machines with raw rubber materials.
+ Regularly move 10 - 15 lbs of rubber across different machines.
+ Push and pull rubber through machines, handling 5 - 10 different lots throughout the day.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience in machine operation, especially in manufacturing environments.
+ Proficiency with calipers and scales.
+ Ability to move materials weighing 10 - 15 lbs regularly.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Detail-oriented with a high level of attention to accuracy.
+ Mid to high-level computer skills, including proficiency in emails and Excel for information tracking.
**Work Environment**
This role is based in a large open manufacturing setting with a focus on rubber seal production, primarily for aerospace applications. The facility operates with a team of 67 people on the first shift, 40 on the second, and 5 on the third shift. The environment includes machine shops, molding, bonding with machine presses, and warehouse areas. It is known for being a very safe and clean workspace.

**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, California.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
