Job Summary

We are looking for individuals to join our client’s team as Certified Surgical Assistant. This position will assist the surgeon in the performance of approved surgical procedures and works under the direct supervision of and by the request of the operating surgeon.

Job Description

• Function as a first assistant or as an additional assistant to the surgeon.

NOTE: Assistance is limited to the scope of the supervising physician’s privileges and may include visualization of the operative site, hemostasis, and suturing.

• Assists in moving, positioning, and prepping the patient for surgery.
• Under the direction of the OR Nurse Manager, will function as a Surgical Tech on a wide variety of surgical cases.
• Delivers excellent customer service by demonstrating proactive, appropriate behaviors in the performance of every aspect of the job.

Skills Required

• 2 years of relevant experience Surgical assisting experience required

Education/Training/Certifications

• Required High School Diploma
• Required Completion of a Surgical Tech First Assistant or Certified Surgical Assistant program.
• Must receive certification as a Certified Surgical Assistant Certification (CSA) through the NCCSA, or Certified Surgical First Assistant Certification (CSFA) through the NBSTSA within two years of completing first assistant course.
• CRT-Surgical Technologist, Certified (CST) - AST Association of Surgical Technologist Upon Hire preferred Or
• CRT-Surgical Technologist, Certified (CST) - ABSA American Board of Surgical Assistants Upon Hire preferred Or
• CRT-Surgical Technologist, Certified (CST) - NBSTSA National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting Upon Hire preferred
• CRT-Surgical First Assistant, Certified (CSFA) - NBSTSA National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting 2 Yrs required
• CRT-Surgical Assistant, Certified (CSA) - NBSTSA National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting 2 Yrs required
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required
• CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire preferred

  Pay Rate

• $55.00 per hour
